Generative AI Use Policy

1. INTRODUCTION

(a) This document sets out the Generative AI Use Policy of Claritas ESG AI Pty Ltd ABN 32 671 057 392 (referred to in this Generative AI Use Policy as “Claritas ESG”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), the owner and operator of the claritasesg.com service.

(b) This Generative AI Use Policy applies when you use our web application accessible at claritasesg.com (“AI Tool”) and describes acceptable use, data handling, quality control, security, and accountability measures of Claritas ESG, an ESG-focused AI assistant developed by Claritas ESG AI Pty Ltd.

(c) We may update this Generative AI Use Policy from time to time by posting an updated copy on our website and we encourage you to check our website regularly to ensure that you are aware of our most current Generative AI Use Policy.

2. ACCEPTABLE USE

2.1 INTENDED USE

Users may use the AI Tool to:

  • (a) address generic Environmental, Social, and Governance questions (ESG) questions;
  • (b) provide basic guidance on ESG best practices and industry standards; and
  • (c) support ESG strategy development and implementation.

2.2 PROHIBITED USE

Users must not use the AI Tool to:

  • (a) generate misleading or false ESG claims (greenwashing);
  • (b) manipulate or falsify ESG data or metrics;
  • (c) engage in any illegal activity using our service; or
  • (d) attempt to jailbreak or manipulate the AI Tool.
3. DATA POLICY

(a) All data entered into the AI Tool is stored on secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.

(b) Claritas ESG reserves the right to access the chat history in order to continuously improve the service provided to users.

(c) Our privacy policy (accessible here: https://claritasesg.com/home/privacy) is intended to align with the Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR guidelines, and accounts for the storage and processing of sensitive information.

(d) Claritas ESG may use application programming interfaces (APIs) provided by OpenAI & Anthropic. Data provided to Claritas ESG may be sent to providers as part of the use of these APIs, however this data will not be stored or utilized by OpenAI or Anthropic. (e) If Claritas ESG uses the collected data for training purposes, it will be de-identified to ensure privacy as per our privacy policy.

(f) Users are advised against entering sensitive corporate data or confidential information into the AI Tool. Claritas ESG will make all reasonable efforts to tag and secure all sensitive information within our systems.

4. QUALITY CONTROL

The AI Tool is still in development and has a number of limitations. By using the AI Tool, you acknowledge and agree that the following limitations and controls apply:

  • (a) The AI Tool is continuously being trained to analyze and interpret ESG data accurately. Where possible, if the AI Tool identifies potential anomalies in ESG metrics or calculations, it will alert users and recommend verification.
  • (b) The AI Tool might occasionally misinterpret complex ESG frameworks or standards, especially in situations where requirements are similar or overlapping. Users must always ensure they double-check and verify any interpretations or recommendations that the AI Tool provides.
  • (c) Information that the AI Tool provides will reference its source where possible. Users should always cross-verify this data to ensure validity before relying on it.
5. SECURITY
  • (a) Our infrastructure is hosted on AWS, with a fully encrypted database (using AES256).
  • (b) All public internet communications are facilitated through HTTPS.
  • (c) Access to internal databases is restricted exclusively to Claritas ESG employees on a strict need-to-know basis.
6. DISCLAIMER

(a) By using the AI Tool, you acknowledge and agree that the AI Tool may give you advice, recommendations, information or assistance, based on the data it contains in its knowledge base. While Claritas ESG contains a knowledge base incorporating major ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements from reputable sources such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and various regulatory bodies, we do not give any warranty of accuracy, appropriateness or reliability of the information the AI Tool provides.

(b) Information and advice provided by the AI Tool is intended to be general in nature and is not intended to constitute or substitute for professional ESG consulting services or advice. Unless required by law, Claritas ESG will not accept any liability or responsibility (including liability for negligence) for any loss suffered because of your or any other person’s reliance on any such information or advice.

(c) Users should always seek personalized advice from qualified ESG professionals, sustainability consultants, or relevant experts before making significant ESG-related decisions or implementing recommendations provided by the AI Tool.
